Frequently asked questions

Who uses Simple?

While millennials (ages 18-35) are statistically Simple’s key demographic, we view our customers as a psychographic: people who want to interact with their money more intuitively through on-demand, mobile banking. As Simple grows, we're seeing our customer base spreading across the US, with an age range that spans from 18-92.

How do I earn commissions?

You earn commissions when you refer a customer who applies and is approved for a Simple checking account.

How does the account creation process work?

Visitors can go to or download our mobile apps and submit an application. That application will be reviewed to ensure it’s a real, eligible person. If the account is opened, the referring affiliate will earn a commission.

When do affiliates get paid?

Once your commissions are above the minimum threshold for your chosen method of payment, you will be paid on the schedule you’ve specified in your affiliate account settings.

Do you allow international affiliates?

We only allow U.S. based affiliates that can deliver U.S. based traffic. If your company is international, but caters to a U.S. audience, feel free to contact us to discuss inclusion in the program.

What types of promotion are allowed?

Currently, we are looking for affiliates who generate unique content for use on their own websites. If you run a blog or website focused on personal finance, investing, or banking, we want to talk to you.

What types of promotion are prohibited?

Except with express written permission from Simple, the following types of promotion are prohibited:

  • Paid search
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Discount/coupons
  • Toolbar/adware
  • Sub-affiliate networks

FTC Compliance Info

According to Federal Trade Commission regulations, bloggers who write about a company and also have a relationship with that company are required to disclose this relationship to the reader. What kind of affiliates are you looking for?

We want to offer customers the best possible experience when interacting with Simple, so we’re pretty selective on the types of affiliates we approve. Here are a few guidelines:

  • To be approved, you must have a website
  • We’re looking for affiliates that create quality unique content
  • No spam/unethical/misleading marketing practices
  • No hate, violent, defamatory, obscene content
  • No promoting of illegal goods/services/activities
