Our iOS and Android Simple apps are designed to make banking and budgeting easier– so if you haven’t already downloaded the Simple app onto your smartphone, start there! Having the Simple app on your phone will give you access to all of our banking and budgeting tools, wherever you are.

Download the Simple app for: - iOS - Android

Here’s a quick tour of everything you can do in the Simple app.

Monitor and organize your transactions from the Activity page.

On the Activity page, you’ll see all your transactions, in order from most recent to least recent. In Simple, your debits (money you’ve spent) are shown in red and your credits (money you’ve earned) are shown in green with a + sign. All of your activity is organized by date for easy skimming.

The Activity page is where you’ll go to review recent transactions and organize them into Expenses and Goals.

Budget for all the things in Expenses.

The Expenses page is where you’ll set up budgets for your monthly bills, like groceries, car payments, and rent. When you turn your bills into Simple Expenses, we’ll automatically save for them, by whenever they’re due.

You can create, edit, and delete Expenses from the Expenses page.

Save money (and earn interest on it too!) with Goals.

This is where you’ll go to set up, edit, and manage your Goals in Simple! Goals make saving and managing money easy, from right inside your Simple checking account. You won’t need any additional budgeting apps, and your funds stay tucked away for your aspirational goals.

If you want to earn a higher interest on your savings, you’ll want to open a Protected Goals Account. A Protected Goals Account is a high-yield checking account that is separate from your Simple checking account (but all managed from the Simple app). You can use them to build up a nest-egg of savings or to stash money away for a rainy day.

You’ll be able to manage all of your Goals from the Goals page, including your Savings Goal and Emergency Funds you’ve opened in your Protected Goals Account.

Set up Direct Deposit.

Keeping track of Expenses with Simple If you plan on using Simple as your primary bank (yay!), it’s a good idea to set up Direct Deposit, so your paycheck can start getting deposited into your account automatically. Once you have money in your Simple account, you can use it to budget for your Expenses and start contributing to Goals.

You can set up Direct Deposit from a web browser by selecting the option in the menu! You’ll just give us a little more information about where you work, and we’ll create a form for you to give to your employer with all the information they need to start depositing your paycheck into your account.

Here’s more info on how to set up Direct Deposit with Simple. It’s super easy!

Deposit checks with mobile check deposit.

You can deposit checks into your Simple account just by taking a picture of your check! Go to the Move Money screen and tap Deposit a Check to start your mobile check deposit. The deposit will generally be available one business day after your deposit is processed. You can find more information about our mobile check deposit limits and funds availability here.

Find a fee-free ATM nearby.

With the ATM finder on the Simple mobile app, you can find the nearest fee-free ATM, no matter where you are. When you go to the ATM finder on the app, it’ll show you a map with your location in the middle. To find fee-free ATMs near you, just zoom out and move around the map to see all available options.

If you have the Android app, the ATM finder has its own page on the menu, and you’ll have the option to tap “Find nearest” to find the closest ATM to you. If you have the iOS app, the ATM finder is under your Move Money page (the little dollar sign with the arrow).

Freeze your debit card if it’s lost or stolen.

Asset 2@3x Can’t seem to find your debit card? That’s not a fun feeling–but no need to panic. Just go to Account Details in Card Management and you’ll be able to block your card so no one has access to your money.

If you do find it (phew!), you can unblock it just as easily. If not–reach out to our Support team through the app and we’ll get you a new card!

Reset your PIN.

You’ll need to know your PIN (personal identification number) to use a debit card. But what if you forget it, or if you want to change it for security reasons? Many online banks don’t give you the option to reset your PIN in their app, which can be a frustrating experience.

Luckily, you can reset your PIN in the Simple app: Just go to Card Management and click Reset PIN to create a new PIN for your Simple Visa® Debit card.

No need to call us or anything–just go to the Account Details screen, click Travel Notice, and answer a few questions for us there.

Find your account numbers.

There are certain times when you’ll need to have your checking account number and routing available, like if you want to add your Simple account as a payment method in your money transfer app .

Finding this info is super easy in the Simple app–just tap Account Number on the Account Details page. You’ll be able to copy your account numbers and paste them wherever you need to.

Important! Keep your account safe from fraud

As fraud attempts are on the rise recently — especially related to unemployment funds — help us keep your account safe by following these guidelines.

Use your Simple Account only for your own personal use. Don’t share your account with others or receive funds on behalf of third parties.

Don’t share your username or password with others. Never give out your login information. Simple will never ask you to tell us your password — if any third party makes such a request, it’s an attempt at fraud.

Don’t open an account at someone else’s request. If someone else asks you to open a Simple Account — such as a real estate company, prospective employer, or someone you met online — it is likely an attempt at fraud.

Be alert for unemployment insurance fraud. You may be violating the law and the terms of your Simple Account if you receive deposits of unemployment funds on behalf of someone else. There are state and federal penalties for unemployment insurance fraud (including potential fines and incarceration). If you suspect you are a victim of unemployment fraud, contact the appropriate state fraud hotline listed here.

Don’t receive funds on behalf of a third party. Keep in mind that receiving funds on behalf of a third party violates the terms and conditions of your Simple Account; in such instances, we may restrict and/or close your account and hold the funds while we await direction from enforcement agencies.
