Since then, a talented group of engineers and customer relations professionals have come together at Simple to create a better banking service. More than 125,000 of you have requested an invitation to replace your bank. Changing an industry is hard, and we are grateful for our future customers’ patience and support as we’ve overcome significant challenges.
Two weeks ago, we started an exciting new chapter in Simple’s evolution. We began bringing on thousands of customers who are now swiping their Simple cards, making payments, and discovering the details that set Simple apart from all other banking services. The team that is building the future of Simple is growing and changing as well.
As someone who has waited three years for this moment, the response from our customers has been humbling. The rate at which folks from our invitation list are becoming customers has exceeded all of our expectations. Simple has grown from an idea to a robust banking service, and we are just getting started.
Our company is evolving, too. Having helped build Simple’s foundation, my co-founder Alex is moving on from his role as CTO, but will remain involved with Simple as an advisor. Alex helped Shamir and me focus the technical direction and philosophy of Simple. He helped build a culture that values clarity in both design and communication. Our team obsessively sweats the details, from the design of the Simple card packaging to our iPhone app. These principles define our uniquely talented team, and set the standard as we grow. Alex is an exceptional person and I am thankful for the important contribution he has made to Simple.
While it’s been three years since I sent that email to Shamir and Jerry, we are only beginning: We seek to change an industry. The public’s trust in banks is at an all-time low. People deserve better. At Simple, it is our dedication to our craft that has made the product what it is today, and ensures its future potential.
