Availability guidelines

  • If you submit a check or money order via Photo Check Deposit before 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) on a business day, we will begin processing it that day. If you submit it later, we'll generally start processing it the next business day.
  • Mailed deposits are subject to the same processing schedule once they arrive and are collected from the deposit P.O. Box. It typically takes a week or more for a deposit sent standard mail to arrive, and about 1 business day for us to collect it from the P.O. Box.
  • During your first 30 days as a customer, your entire deposit will be held for 9 business days.
  • After your account has been open 31 days, up to $200 will be available after one business day. Any remaining funds are made available on the following business day.
  • If you deposit multiple checks or money orders in one day, up to $200 total (rather than $200 per check) will be released after one business day.
  • Deposit funds will be credited to your account around 7:30 a.m. ET (4:30 a.m. PT).

Extended holds

  • If you deposit a check greater than $5,000, or multiple checks totaling over $5,000 on the same day, the amount exceeding $5,000 may be subject to an extended hold.
  • International checks are held for 45 calendar days.
  • We may also place additional holds if we have reasonable cause to doubt that we'll be able to collect the check funds from the paying bank.

If any of your deposits are subject to an extended hold, we'll be in touch when the hold is placed to let you know the reason for the hold and the date the funds will be available.
