Editing or Deleting Goals

Editing a Goal

On the web, you can edit a Goal to change the name or Goal color and add a memo. If it's a completed Goal, you can save more over time; if it's an in-progress Goal, you can change the target amount and date.

To do this, navigate to the Goals tab and click on the Goal you'd like to edit. There, you'll see the edit button.

Auto-spending from a Goal

You can also set up Goals so specific transaction categories are automatically spent from those Goals. For example, you can specify that groceries transactions always come out of your "Groceries" Goal.

This option is only available for some folks on the web right now, but it'll be an option for everyone (and on mobile!) soon. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Sign in to your web account and navigate to the Goals tab.
  2. Click on the Goal.
  3. Find Auto-spend from this goal for: in the sidebar and then click Change. Auto 1
  4. Select the type of transactions you'd like automatically deducted from that Goal. You can browse from the list or search.Auto 2
  5. Click Save.

You can follow the same steps, at any time, to remove automatic Goal associations or select new categories.

One thing to note: each transaction category can only be associated with one Goal at a time. For example, if "Grocieries" are associated with a "Groceries" Goal, they can't also be associated with a "Food" Goal.

Deleting or archiving a Goal

When you've completed a Goal, or decided you no longer want to save up for a Goal, you can delete or archive it. Archiving is essentially the same as deleting—the only difference is that any Goals that have transactions associated with them are automatically archived instead of deleted so that those associations stay in place. Archived goals cannot be resumed.

Steps to delete or archive a Goal

  1. Sign in on the web.
  2. Go to the Goals tab.
  3. Click on the Goal.
  4. Click on the Edit Goal button.
  5. Select Delete Goal or Archive Goal. Delete goal
  6. Any funds remaining in the Goal will be transferred to your Safe-to-Spend.
