Sending an Instant Transfer

Before you can send an Instant transfer, you'll need to add an Instant contact. If you'd like instructions on how to do that, head over here:

Sending money with Instant

Feature availability is based on a variety of factors, including account age and history. You will see “Unavailable” when you attempt to schedule a transfer if the feature is not yet available to you. Keep using your account and the feature may be turned on in the future.

  1. Click the Move Money button.
  2. Select Transfer to a friend.
  3. Pick the lucky recipient from your contact list and enter the amount of money you’d like to send.
  4. Press send—the money will instantly leave your account and appear in theirs.

Can I send an Instant transfer from my Shared account?

Shared accounts don't have Instant transfers. However, you can instantly move money to or from your Shared account to your individual one. From the Move Money menu, select Transfer to a Shared Account. There aren't any limits on these.

  1. Swipe right to open the navigation menu.
  2. Tap Move Money. description
  3. Tap Transfer to a friend.

  5. Choose the amount of money you’d like to send.
  6. You'll have the option of sending a memo or note along with the transfer.
  7. Press send—the money will instantly leave your account and appear in theirs.

  2. Select Transfer to a friend.
  3. Tap their name and choose the amount of money you’d like to send.
  4. Press the arrow.
  5. You'll have the option of sending a memo or note along with the transfer.
  6. The money will instantly leave your account and appear in theirs.

Can I send an Instant transfer from my Shared account?

Shared accounts don't have Instant transfers. However, you can instantly move money to or from your Shared account to your individual one. From the Move Money menu, select Transfer to a Shared Account. There aren't any limits on these.

Are there any limits?

Transfer limits vary and are based on a variety of factors.

  • If the feature is available on your account the maximum amount that you can send in a day is $2000. There is no way to raise this limit.
  • There is no limit on the number of transfers—just on the total sum of outgoing transfers.
  • There is a minimum limit of $1 per transfer.
  • There is no limit on incoming transfers.

Do not open an account on behalf of someone else
If anyone asks you to open a Simple Account to receive funds, it is an attempt at fraud. Common fraud attempts include requesting that you open an account to receive a gift or bonus offer, obtain a job or job training, or help someone else receive funds (such as unemployment benefits).

Do not share your login or account information with anyone
Neither Simple nor any other legitimate institution will ever ask for your account information. If any third party requests your Simple Account login information, it is an attempt at fraud. Sharing your account information with another person or allowing someone else to use your account to receive funds is a violation of the Simple Deposit Account Agreement terms and conditions and can expose you to fraud.

Actions we may take if fraud is suspected

We take fraud and security very seriously at Simple, and take rapid action in the instance of suspected fraud attempts.

We may freeze and close accounts
We may freeze and close accounts if fraudulent activity is suspected, including the following circumstances:

We will report fraud attempts
We are responsible for reporting fraud attempts to authorities, including attempted unemployment fraud. There are state and federal penalties for unemployment insurance fraud (including potential fines and incarceration). If you suspect you are a victim of unemployment fraud, contact the appropriate state fraud hotline listed here.
